Norman Joseph Dellinger
Always Ready with a Smile -
Norman Joseph Dellinger, age 80, of Carlisle , and formerly of Mechanicsburg , died at Heritage Harbor on Monday, May 4, 2015. Norman was born on Monday, June 18, 1934 in Mount Jackson, Virginia, to the late Noah Dellinger and Della (Click) Dellinger. In addition to his parents, Norman is preceded in death by his four brothers: Melvin, Noah Jr., Leo, and Donald; his sister, Betty Jean Staub; and his granddaughter, Julie Zeigler.
Norman’s survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Nancy Jane (Kitzmiller) Dellinger; his children: Karen Dellinger of Carlisle, Cliff Dellinger and his husband, Brian, of Shermans Dale, Elaine Dellinger and her partner, Lori, of Carlisle, and Holly Dellinger of Carlisle; his grandchildren: Justin Gene Gregorits of St. Petersburg, FL, Matthew Norman Gregorits and his wife, Jen, of Harrisburg, Jennifer Janine Perea of Carlisle, and Lacy Marie Herrington and her husband, Daryle, of Pascagoula, MS; his great-grandchildren: Brianna, Kane, Jordan, Zach, Adam, Eli, Lila, and Matyas; and his siblings: Michael Dellinger and his wife, Linda, of Carlisle, and Dorothy Nauss and her husband, Ralph, of Mechanicsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Norman attended Mechanicsburg Area High School as part of the class of 1953. Norman worked as a realtor for nearly 50 years in the Harrisburg area. He loved taking care of his yard and driving. Norman spent much of his time outdoors walking, hunting, and fishing. He enjoyed singing and listening to Nancy play the piano. Norman had a great sense of humor and he loved to laugh. He was a people person who always had a smile on his face. Norman had a deep love for his family, especially for his Nancy.
All are welcome to join Norman’s family at his gathering of family and friends on Monday, May 11, 2015, from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service at 3:00 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Celebrant George Spangler officiating. Interment in Mechanicsburg Cemetery will be at the family’s convenience. Cremation was private.
