Palmira “Pal” Rita (Tessari) Frederick
A Supportive, Loving, & Caring Woman -
Palmira “Pal” Rita (Tessari) Frederick, age 95, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Lamar, passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side on Sunday, June 25, 2017. Pal was born on Saturday, July 23, 1921, in Camazzole, Padua, Italy to the late Antonio Lelio Tessari and Elizabeth (Menegatti) Tessari. Pal was the widow of Stanley “Stan” Anthony Frederick, Sr., whom she married on June 30, 1947, and who died on December 21, 2000. In addition to her parents and husband, Pal is preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Helen (Graham) Frederick; her sister, Mary Tessari; her two brothers: John B. Tessari and his son, John, Michael A. Tessari and his wife, Lois Dianne; brother-in-law Andrew J. Hirt and sister-in-law Helen Irene Tessari; her four brother-in-laws: Joseph Frederick, Frank Frederick, Robert Frederick, Edward Frederick; her two sister-in-laws: Mary (Frederick) Kuryla and her husband, Andrew, Nellie (Frederick) Ritz and her husband, Anthony, and their son, Gingi; and her parents-in-law: Frank and Regina Wietrzyk/Frederick.
Pal’s survivors include her three children: Stanley “Stan” A. Frederick, Jr. of Wilmington, NC, Frank J. Frederick and his wife, Beverly (Hanks), of Alexandria, VA, Laureen “Lori” Ann (Frederick) Bierly and her husband, William “Bill”, of Mechanicsburg; her three grandchildren: Joseph Curren Frederick, Jonathan Ryan Frederick, Craig Graham; her four great-grandchildren: Jessica Graham, Ashley Graham, Erin Graham, Hailey Graham; her three siblings: Dino A. Tessari of Johnstown, PA, Anthony L. Tessari and his wife, Janet (Heinrich) of Alum Bank, PA, Florence E. Hirt of Youngstown, OH; and many nieces and nephews.
Pal retired from Bobbie Brooks, Inc. Sewing Factory in Lock Haven, PA, after almost 10 years of service working as a seamstress. She was a longtime member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Lock Haven. Pal was a hardworking woman who was always cooking, baking, cleaning, and providing for her family. She loved doing jigsaw puzzles and spending time outside gardening. Pal had a great sense humor which exemplified her friendly and outgoing personality. She was also very supportive, loving and caring. Most importantly, Pal was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; she will be dearly missed by her entire family.
All are welcome to join Pal’s family at her viewing on Thursday, June 29, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055 and for her Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, June 30, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 410 East Simpson Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with The Reverend Thomas J. Rozman celebrating.
Burial will follow in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery in Lilly, PA with a graveside service beginning at 2:30 p.m.; with Monsignor John R. Sasway officiating. Honored to be pallbearers are Stanley A. Frederick, Jr., Frank J. Frederick, Joseph C. Frederick, Jonathan R. Frederick, William Bierly, and Thomas Hirt. Pal’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at Parkway Restaurant, 106 Munster Road, Portage, PA 15946, following the burial.
