Patricia Kay (Hammaker) Blazer, 71, of Mechanicsburg , died at Holy Spirit Hospital on Monday, February 3, 2014. She was born in Harrisburg, on Monday, June 15, 1942, daughter of the late Robert Hammaker and Thelma (Gibbons) Kemberling. Patricia was the wife of Charles Walter Blazer to whom she was married for 43 years.
Patricia’s survivors include her loving husband Charles; her children, Barbara Blazer of Etters, Brian Blazer and his wife Stephanie of Hummelstown, Donald Blazer and his wife Susan of Mechanicsburg; her grandchildren, Tara, Maudi, Kyla, Jennifer, Jessi, and Justin; her great-grandchildren, David and Ella; her brother, Charles Kemberling, Jr.; her half-brother, Terry Kemberling; and her aunt, Barbara Sheaffer. Among those preceding her in death is her daughter, Marie Longey.
Patricia graduated from Cumberland Valley High School as part of the class of 1960. She retired from Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill, after 18 years of service working in the dietary department. Patricia also worked at Howmet Aluminum in Steelton. She was a member of Lisburn Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary . Patricia enjoyed baking cheesecakes, cookies, knitting and playing bingo. She adored her grandchildren and was truly an awesome lady.
Cremation and burial in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens will be private and at the family’s convenience.
