Patricia “Pat” Lee (Bordner) Gipe
Warm and Loving Heart -
Patricia “Pat” Lee (Bordner) Gipe, age 72, of Carlisle, and formerly of Mechanicsburg, went home on Monday, October 8, 2018 with her loving family by her side. Pat was born on Saturday, May 25, 1946 in Harrisburg to the late Jeremiah Elmer Bordner, Sr. and Betty Mae (Zimmerman) Bordner. In addition to her parents, Pat is preceded in death by her son, Michael Bryan Gipe, Sr.
Pat’s survivors include her husband of 57 years, Samuel “Sam” Harrison Gipe, Sr.; her six children: Tammy Berger and her husband, Paul, Samuel “Sam” Harrison Gipe, Jr. and his companion Betty Arnold, William “Bill” Lee Gipe, Jeffrey “Jeff” Lynn Gipe and his wife Mary Beth, Troy Allen Gipe and his companion, Kenneth Troup, Jessica Ann Hoffman and her husband, Douglas; her 17 grandchildren; her 17 great-grandchildren; her brother, Jeremiah Elmer Bordner, Jr.; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved canine companion: Brandy.
Pat was a proud homemaker, who adored her family. She cherished the time she spent babysitting her grandchildren, and the many hours playing many games with them, especially Yahtzee and 500 Rummy. She nearly always won. Her favorite pastimes were listening to music, especially country music and watching horror movies and thrillers. Some of her favorite movies were: Jaws, Tremors and Lake Placid. She loved watching her husband, Sam, race at Silver Springs Speedway. Pat was an animal lover, who often said that she would adopt them all if she had enough money. The warmth of her loving heart will continue to be felt by her entire family and everyone who was blessed enough to have known her.
All are welcome to join Pat’s family at her viewing on Sunday, October 14, 2018, from 1:30 p.m. until time of service at 3:00 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Celebrant George A. Spangler celebrating. Pat’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at the Grace United Methodist Church in Mechanicsburg immediately following the service. Burial in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Harrisburg will be private and at the convenience of the family. Honored to be pallbearers are: Jeffrey Gipe, Michael Gipe, Jr., Troy Gipe, William Gipe, Douglas Hoffman, Daniel Taylor, Samuel Gipe, Jr. and Katelyn Wieland.
