Patricia “Carol” Carol (McClaren) Mason
A Quiet and Independent Woman -
Patricia “Carol” Carol (McClaren) Mason, age 82, of Mechanicsburg, went home on Monday, September 24, 2018. Carol was born on Saturday, January 11, 1936 in Jenners Township, Somerset County to the late Blair Wesley McClaren and Sarah Kathryn (Kimmel) McClaren. Carol was the widow of Roy E. Mason, whom she married on May 31, 1959, and who died on May 24, 2015.
Carol’s survivors include her two children: Blair Edward Mason and his wife, Sherri, of Dillsburg, Shari O’Connell and her husband, John, of Harrisburg; her three grandchildren: Jennifer Gochenaur and her husband, Kyle, Tyler Mason and his wife, Bailey, and Patrick Mason; her five great-grandchildren: Isaah, Lucas, Kallie, Clara, Alena; her two sisters: Audrey Lowrey and her husband, Wayne, of Somerset, Belinda Pugh of Hooversville; and several nieces and nephews.
Carol graduated from Jennece-Boswell-Jennerstown Joint High School as part of the class of 1955. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Mechanicsburg for over 40 years. Carol was a quiet woman who enjoyed spending time at her home. She never missed an episode of her favorite shows each night and read her Bible faithfully every day. Carol also liked to go on a walk daily and take in the nature around her by watching the birds and squirrels in her backyard. She loved to go out to eat at diners as well as making trips to new places and meeting new people.
All are welcome to join Carol’s family at her graveside service on Saturday, September 29, 2018, at 12:00 p.m. at Mechanicsburg Cemetery, 137 West Marble Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Pastor Ross Ritchey officiating. Honored to be pallbearers are: John Case, Jonathan Case, Kyle Gochenaur, Patrick Mason, Tyler Mason, and John O’Connell. Carol’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at her daughter’s home in Harrisburg.
