Patricia “Pat” Jean (Sechler) Neely
Focused on Others -
Patricia “Pat” Jean (Sechler) Neely, age 72, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Leetsdale, PA died peacefully at home and surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, December 2, 2015, after an eight-year-long illness. Pat was born on Thursday, November 18, 1943, in Sewickley, PA to the late Robert Sechler and Betty Sedora (Smith) Sechler.
Pat’s survivors include her loving husband of 50 years, Samuel “Sam” Dale Neely; her two children: Melissa “Missy” B. Neely of Mechanicsburg, Samuel “Sam” R. Neely and his wife, Laura, and their children: Nick, Andrea, and Ryan, all of Mechanicsburg; her three brothers: Robert Sechler and his wife, Anita, Terry Sechler and his wife, Elaine, Scott Sechler and his wife, Jamie; her dear, long-time friend of more than 47 years, Doris Rosi; her sister-in-law, Linda Neely and her fiancé, Butch Lacher; several nieces, nephews; and two grandnieces.
Pat was a registered nurse who dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren. Her focus was constantly on others and she enjoyed keeping up with the people in her life; always remembering birthdays and showing genuine interest in everyone she knew. Pat was caring and compassionate which made her a confidant to all she met. She was a good judge of character and firm in her moral convictions, never doubting that she was right. Pat loved to shop and she was a QVC addict, but even her shopping revolved around others. As much as Pat was a people person, she also loved dogs immensely, and she liked flowers so much that Pat’s daughter would brighten her days with fresh bouquets two to three times a week. She was fond of music, and especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s band competitions. Pat never allowed her numerous struggles with illness to overcome her beautiful spirit. Visits from her brothers during her illness were cherished and time with her grandchildren always brought Pat great joy.
All are welcome to join Pat’s family at her gathering of family and friends on Saturday, December 12, 2015, from 11:30 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Pastor Timothy Wheeler officiating.
