Patricia “Pat” Ann (Albright) Thornton, age 80, of Harrisburg, and formerly of Wilkes-Barre, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 20, 2019.  Pat was born on Friday, July 8, 1938 in Wilkes-Barre to the late Frederick Alfred Albright and Margaret Catherine (Murphy) Albright.  Pat was the widow of William “Bill” Joseph Thornton, whom she married on May 2, 1959, and who died on August 5, 2008.  In addition to her parents and husband, Pat is preceded in death by her daughter, Joanne Thornton.

Pat’s survivors include her four children: Eileen Guise and her husband, Brian, of Mechanicsburg, Michael Thornton and his wife, Inez, of Carlisle, Jeffrey “Jeff” Thornton and his wife, Kathleen, of Harrisburg, Christopher “Chris” Thornton of Hampden Township; her ten grandchildren: Mark Thornton and his wife, Erin, Julianne Haslam and her husband, Jesse, Jennifer Guise and her fiancé, Tony Turocy, Michael Guise, Matthew Guise, Anthony Thornton, Amanda Thornton, Halie Thornton, Rachel Thornton, Liam Thornton; and her three great-grandchildren: Madalynn Haslam, Graycie Haslam, Benjamin Haslam.

Pat graduated from St. Ann’s Academy as part of the class of 1956 and remained in touch with her fellow alumni for many decades, often times organizing their gatherings.  She was a very active member of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Parish in Harrisburg since 1961.  For more than ten years, she was the operator of Patricia’s Lingerie in Camp Hill about 25 years ago.  Pat was a crafty and creative person with a knack for putting together silk flower arrangements and wreaths.  She was musically talented and played several instruments such as piano and drums.  Pat also loved to travel and visited Ireland twice, where she was able to learn all about her Irish heritage, of which she was very proud.  She was a huge Notre Dame Football fan and an avid reader.  Pat will be remembered for being a very social woman who was always keeping herself busy.

All are welcome to join Pat’s family at her gathering of family and friends on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until time of prayer service at 6:00 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Reverend Paul R. Shuda and Reverend Edward R. Lavelle officiating.  Interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Wilkes-Barre will follow at a later date at the convenience of the family.  Cremation was private.
