Patricia “Patty” Evelyn (Dolly) Thomas, age 62, of Mechanicsburg , died unexpectedly on Friday, October 31, 2014. Patty was born on Wednesday, February 27, 1952 in Cumberland, Maryland, to Lois Patricia (Dove) Dolly and the late Henry Curtis Dolly. In addition to her father, Patty is preceded in death by her sister, Bonnie L. Dolly.
Patty’s survivors include her loving husband, John Robert Thomas; her two daughters: Shea Johnson and her husband, Curtis, of Mt. Holly, Kristy Hummel and her husband, Rich, of Dillsburg; her mother, Lois Dolly, of Dillsburg; her four grandchildren: Korenia Barrick, Spencer Thomas, Quinn Boyd, Sierra Hummel; her six great-grandchildren; her three siblings: Henry Dolly of Florida, Beverly Ann Breach of Camp Hill, Rita Bodkins of Etters; and several nieces and nephews.
Patty graduated from Northern High School as part of the class of 1971. She was a member of Crossroads Community Church in Mechanicsburg. Patty was proud to be known as a truck driver and she loved working for Pennsy Supply . Her joys in life included: hunting, fishing, gardening, drawing, and traveling. Williams Grove Speedway and Rehoboth Beach were two of her favorite places. Patty was an avid collector of records, with over 1,000 in her personal collection. Family time was deeply important to Patty, and she cherished the time she spent with her great-grandchildren. Described as a “wonderful person,” she was always helpful to others and will warmly be remembered as loving and caring.
Patty’s family will privately celebrate her life and offer their final farewell; with cremation to follow.
