Patrick Allen Pittenger

Patrick Allen Pittenger, age 51, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Sheboygan, WI, died suddenly and unexpectedly as a result of a heart attack on Wednesday, July 19, 2023.  Patrick was born on Friday, January 28, 1972, in Sheboygan, WI to William McNeil Pittenger and Rita Marie (Dale) Pittenger.

Patrick’s survivors include his wife of 32 years, Anna Elisabeth (Sevelin) Pittenger; his two sons: Daniel Pittenger and partner, Abby Goodnight; Brian Pittenger, all of Carson City, NV; his parents William Pittenger and Rita (Dale) Pittenger, of Sheboygan, WI; and his three siblings: John Pittenger and wife, Nicole, of Eyota, MN, Kevin Pittenger and wife, Dina, of Appleton, WI, and Terra Linda Pittenger of Denver, CO.

Patrick enjoyed kayaking, bicycling, walks in nature, and travel.  He loved skiing with his boys and attending sports games.  He was an avid problem solver who took on difficult tasks and took care of his family with extraordinary care. Patrick graduated from the University of Milwaukee in 1994 with a degree in geography and got his masters in transportation planning from Iowa State University in 1995.

His career in transportation planning was long and productive, working for many government organizations: Senior Planner, Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission; Transportation Planner (WI), Carson City Public Works; Transportation Planning Director (NV), Benton-Franklin Council of Governments (WA); Planning and Air Quality Team Leader, Federal Highway Administration (CA); Director of Planning, Environment, and Finance, at the Federal Highway Department (PA).

Celebration of Life will be held at the home of Rita and William Pittenger on Saturday August 12, 2023. Guests are welcome to arrive at 3:00, Celebration at 4:00, Dinner at 5:00.  Please R.S.V.P. to Terralindapittenger@gmail.com or on the Facebook event page.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Patrick’s memory can be made to the American Heart Association where the family has established a fund.
