Patrick “Pat” Mark Witmer, 62, of Enola, and formerly of Mechanicsburg , died at Holy Spirit Hospital on Sunday, February 23, 2014. He was born in Lebanon, on Saturday, March 17, 1951, son of the late Charles “Bud” Witmer and Claudine “Deenie” (Barnes) Witmer. Pat was the husband of Donna Kay (McMinn) Witmer whom he married on August 17, 1999.
Pat’s survivors include his wonderful wife of 14 years, Donna; his children, Alan DeWalt of Newville, Tonya Binner and her husband JR of Mechanicsburg , Jennifer Taylor and her husband Bryan of Mechanicsburg; grandchildren, Ryan, Dante, Kasey, Kody, Dylan; his siblings, Michael Witmer and his wife Sally, Kurt Witmer, Gretchen Witmer; father-in-law, Jim McMinn; brothers-in-law, John “Tink” McMinn and Lisa, Jimmy McMinn and Deb, Rick McMinn and Linda; niece, Valerie; great-niece, Carly; best friend Pete Miller; and his dog, Hope. Among those preceding Pat in death is his mother-in-law, Rosanna Wolfe McMinn.
Pat was known as an exceptional heavy equipment operator and construction worker for over 40 years. Most importantly, Pat was a caring and loving man who was devoted to his family and friends. He was a diehard fan of NASCAR racing and an avid fan of Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr. Pat always loved the thrill of the race.
All are welcome to join Pat’s family on Wednesday, March 5, 2014, from 2:30 p.m. until time of service at 3:00 p.m. at Myers–Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. Cremation will be private and at the family’s convenience.
