Loving Wife, Mother, and Grandmother –
Patsy Celestine (O’Steen) Sharbaugh, age 73, of Mechanicsburg , and formerly of Surfside Beach, SC , died unexpectedly at Holy Spirit Hospital on Wednesday, February 4, 2015. Patsy was born on Thursday, July 3, 1941 in Greeneville, TN to the late James Lester O’Steen and Mary Fayetta (Susong) O’Steen. In addition to her parents, Patsy is preceded in death by her infant son, Patrick Michael Sharbaugh.
Patsy’s survivors include her loving husband of 44 years, Michael “Mike” Sharbaugh, of Mechanicsburg; her children: Dawn Michele Bennardi and her husband, Patrick “Paddy,” of Williamsport, James “Jim” Michael Sharbaugh and his fiancée, Sally Windhorn, of New Cumberland; her granddaughter, Kate; and Eski-poo dog, Max.
Patsy loved the beach, including any and all beaches. She was an avid reader who read everything from magazines, like Southern Living , to any genre of novel. Patsy was an excellent cook; and among her mouth-watering specialties were tuna noodle casserole, chocolate chip walnut bourbon pies, garlic and cheese grits, and Hoppin-John. Patsy was an excellent wife, a warm-hearted, loving mother of her children and pets, and a grandmother who enjoyed shopping for and spending time with her granddaughter.
All are welcome to join Patsy’s family at gathering of family and friends on Saturday, February 7, 2015, from 9:45 a.m. until time of funeral service at 10:30 a.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Celebrant George Spangler officiating. Burial will follow in Mechanicsburg Cemetery in Mechanicsburg. Patsy’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at Snapper’s Bar & Grill in Mechanicsburg, following the burial.
