Paul Eugene Clepper, Sr., age 84, of Mechanicsburg , died at West Shore Hospital on Saturday, September 27, 2014. Paul was born on Tuesday, April 22, 1930 in Mechanicsburg to the late Joseph H. Clepper and Floetta (Beistline) Clepper. In addition to his parents, Paul is preceded in death by his grandson, Joseph Clepper; his sons: Robert Clepper and Jeffrey Clepper; his brothers: Merle Clepper, Marvin Clepper, John Clepper and Ray Clepper; and his sister, Barbara Stump.
Paul’s survivors include his loving wife, Bernadine Alice (Moyer) Clepper, whom he married on November 5, 1950; his children: Paul Clepper, Jr. and his wife, Yvonne, of Carlisle, Gladys “Babs” Wilson of Lewisberry, Christine Musser and her husband, Daniel, of Mechanicsburg, Randy Clepper and his wife, Tracee, of Carlisle; his eight grandchildren: Angie, Barbara, Sandy, Tracey, Matthew, Sarah, Jesse, Tina; his 14 great-grandchildren: Katie, Brittney, Trevor, Anthony, Jayson, Emma, Travis, Dillon, Rhianna, Gabriel, Emily, Zachary, Joseph, Justin; and several nieces and nephews.
Paul was a proud dairy farmer, retiring after working on his family’s farm in Mechanicsburg for over 35 years. He then worked for another 20 years for the New Harrisburg Truck Body Company in Mechanicsburg. Paul’s favorite pastimes included fishing, hunting, traveling, and enjoying bluegrass music. He was mechanically inclined and an antique farm equipment enthusiast. Paul loved farming so much that he helped his son on his farm in his later years; and his family remembers him fondly as a dependable, hard-working man of integrity, who spoke his mind, had a big heart, and loved his family.
All are welcome to join Paul’s family at his gathering of family and friends on Friday, October 3, 2014, from 10:30 a.m. until time of memorial service at 11:30 a.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Pastor Fred Miller officiating. Following the memorial service, Paul’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at the Monroe Township Community Center, 1220 Boiling Springs Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.
Cremation was private and interment in Longsdorf Cemetery will be private and at the family’s convenience.
