Paul William Cressler, Jr., age 79, of Carlisle, and formerly of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2019.  Paul was born on Thursday, October 26, 1939 in Bowmansdale to the late Paul William Cressler, Sr. and Edith M. (Neidigh) Cressler.  Paul was the widower of Ann Elizabeth (Dahr) Cressler, whom he married on July 10, 1965, and who died on June 25, 2019.  In addition to his parents and wife, Paul is preceded in death by his brother, Harvey R. Cressler.

Paul’s survivors include his six siblings: Dorothy Hopple and her husband, Edward, of Mechanicsburg, Joyce Heckman and her husband, Paul, of Wormleysburg, Patsy Felty of Blaine, WA, Donald “Don” Cressler and his wife, Wanda, of Carlisle, Bonnie Deardorf and her husband, Wayne, of East Berlin, and Ronald Cressler of Dillsburg.

Paul retired from IBM, after many years of service working as a computer technician.  He was a huge fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.  Paul was known for always having a smile on his face, no matter what was going on in his life.

All are welcome to join Paul’s family at his graveside service with military honors on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, 55 Indiantown Gap Road, Annville, PA 17003; with Reverend Paul Albert officiating.  Paul’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship to begin at 1:00 p.m. at Bowmansdale Church of God, 101 East Lisburn Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.  Cremation was private.

The family sends their most heartfelt thanks to Claremont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, especially all the nurses and aids on the second floor whom so lovingly cared for Paul during his illness.
