Paul Henry Mintz, 47, of Glen Burnie and formerly of Harrisburg died unexpectedly and suddenly on Thursday, November 24, 2011 while surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on Thursday, September 17, 1964 in Harrisburg the son of the late The Very Rightful Reverend Arnold Edward Mintz and Dorothy Ann (Stang) Mintz.

Paul graduated from Central Dauphin High School as part of the class of 1982 and from Penn State University in 1987 with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Russian Studies.  An Eagle Scout, he devoted 15 years of his working life to the Boy Scouts.  Paul was a self-employed Antiques Dealer who owned Arundel Antiques and Priority Consignments both in Maryland.  He loved “bad” movies and reading and was an avid history buff.  Paul enjoyed everything British.  He was always laughing and was the most caring and giving person many had ever known.

Paul’s survivors include his companion: Kathy Herche of Sykesville, Maryland; his former wife and dear friend: Trudy Ann Marietta Mintz of Mechanicsburg; four siblings: Mary Mintz and her husband John Salsbury of Rockport, MA; Martha Kraska and her husband Lewis of Harrisburg; Christopher Mintz of Colorado; Clara Mintz of Chester Springs; his step-mother: Reverend Elsa Hale Mintz of Chester Springs; his niece: Kathryn Grady of Harrisburg; and his nephew: Michael Kraska and his children: Gage Kraska and Lindy Ellen all of Harrisburg.  Among those preceding Paul in death is his brother: Andrew Peter Mintz.

All are welcome to join Paul’s family at his viewing on Tuesday, November 29, 2011, from 5:00 to 8:00 at Myers–Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA, 17055, (717) 766-3421, www.Myers-Buhrig.com and at his funeral service on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at 11:00 at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Cathedral , 221 North Front Street, Harrisburg, PA, 17101 with The Very Reverend Churchill G. Pinder officiating.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Eagles Mere Cemetery.  Paul’s family invites everyone to join them for a Time of Food and Fellowship at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Cathedral on Wednesday immediately following the service.  The family suggests memorial contributions to: Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10004.
