Pearl Martina (Gross) Myers
Always a Lady -
Pearl Martina (Gross) Myers, age 90, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2019. Pearl was born on Saturday, March 2, 1929 in Carlisle to the late Lester O. Gross, Sr. and Goldie Mae (Goodling) Gross. Pearl was the widow of Orval Eugene Myers, whom she married in 1948, and who died on September 5, 1982. In addition to her parents and husband, Pearl is preceded in death by her two sisters: Dorothy Spitz and Frances Swartz; and her two brothers: Lloyd “Pete” Gross and Richard Gross.
Pearl’s survivors include her three children: Gary Myers and his wife, Sharon, of Mechanicsburg, Ronald “Ron” Myers and his wife, Patricia, of Mesa, AZ, Patricia “Pat” Myers of Lemoyne; her four grandchildren: Matthew Myers and his wife, Katja, and their children: Elizabeth, Alexandra, and Blake, Kristal Nimmons and her husband, Steve, and their children: McKenzi and Kassidi, Christina Mulcrone and her husband, Logan, and their children: Kellan and Lincoln, Jason Myers and his wife, Cristie, and their children: Max, June, and Eve; her brother, Lester “Butch” Gross, Jr. and his wife, Patricia, of Etters; and several nieces and nephews.
Pearl was a former member of the First Church of God in Mechanicsburg. She was active in many bowling leagues, based at Mechanicsburg’s ABC West and a member of the CY Travel Club in Dillsburg. Pearl loved traveling with her friends and family. She took many bus trips and cruises to places such as Atlantic City, Florida, Hawaii, Missouri, the New England states, and Alaska. Pearl enjoyed collecting angels, pearl jewelry, and indulging in her favorite foods: banana splits and crab cake sandwiches. She was always laughing, especially in the presence of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were the lights of her life and she loved spending as much time as she could with them. Pearl will be remembered for how she was always a lady; she consistently had her hair done with nails manicured, dressed nicely, and wearing her jewelry.
