Peggy Ann (Spahr) Swain
Everyone Was Her Friend -
Peggy Ann (Spahr) Swain, age 75, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Bowmansdale, peacefully went home to be with her husband on Monday, April 2, 2018. Peggy was born on Saturday, October 31, 1942 in Mechanicsburg to the late Norman Edward Spahr and Elizabeth Vermont (Gilbert) Spahr. Peggy was the widow of Raymond “Ray” Stanley Swain, whom she married in 1974, and who died on November 26, 2011. In addition to her parents and husband, Peggy is preceded in death by her daughter, Cindy Jo Belicic; and her sister, Joyce Spahr.
Peggy’s survivors include her two children: Elizabeth “Liz” McClain and her husband, Charles, of Harrisburg, Michael Belicic and his wife, Tammy, of Gardners; her three grandchildren: Melinda “Mindy” Belicic and her fiance, Richard, of Mechanicsburg, Blake Belicic of Dillsburg, Bethany McClain of Middletown; her five great-grandchildren: Angelina Mateo, Aamiyah Workman, Aalayshia Workman, Cassidy Brandt, Aubrey Brandt; her sister, Patsy Fry and her husband, Pete, of Camp Hill; and several nieces and nephews.
Peggy retired from the Mechanicsburg Area School District, after 15 years of service working as a bus driver. She was a member of Christian Life Assembly in Camp Hill, where she worked as a housekeeper and attended numerous church functions. Peggy enjoyed playing Bingo, shopping, and going to yard sales where she could continue to add to her many collections. She loved going to her favorite beach, Assateague Island State Park, in Ocean City, MD with her family. Peggy truly was a genuine and one of a kind person with a heart of gold. She treated everyone as her friend and would do anything for anyone. Peggy was an amazing “Nanny” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is going to be dearly missed by her entire family and all those that got to know her.
All are welcome to join Peggy’s family at her gathering of family and friends on Friday, April 6, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. at Christian Life Assembly, 2645 Lisburn Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011; with Pastor Lee E. Hyman officiating. Peggy’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at her church following the service. Cremation was private.
