Philip “Phil” Weldon Collens
Philip “Phil” Weldon Collens, age 87, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021. Phil was born on Tuesday, September 12, 1933, in Pittsburgh to the late Clinton W. Collens and Marion (Geldt) Collens. In addition to his parents, Phil is preceded in death by his beloved canine companion Bonnie.
Phil retired from IBM Corporation in 1991 where he served as a computer technician. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, and a member of the VFW. Phil loved animals, and had several beloved dogs. He liked taking care of his flower beds, he especially loved roses, lovingly tending his many rose bushes. He will be remembered by friends as a wonderful friend and caring neighbor.
All are welcome to join Phil’s family at his gathering of family and friends on Thursday, April 1, 2021, from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. with a procession departing at 12:30 p.m. for his committal service beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, where military honors will be offered. Phil’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at Snitz Creek Restaurant & Brewery in Annville immediately following the committal service.
