Rachael E. (Brandt) Boyer, age 89, of Carlisle went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Chapel Pointe at Carlisle.  Born in Williams Grove, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Bertha (Slothour) Brandt.  In addition to her parents, Rachael was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Brandt, and her loving husband of 59 years, Charles “Charlie” Boyer.

Rachael’s survivors include her daughter, Pamella Wallace and her husband, Wilmer, of Lancaster County; her brother, Wayne Brandt, of Plymouth; and four nieces and nephews.

Rachael graduated from Mechanicsburg High School as part of the class of 1945.  She began painting in grade school and continued to enjoy painting into her later years.  Rachael began teaching right out of high school in a one-room schoolhouse. She later became an owner and operator of Hollywood Beauty Salon in Mechanicsburg, and then Countryside Beauty Salon in Carlisle.  Rachael was also a typist at Book-of-the-Month Club .  After retirement, she came to live at Chapel Pointe at Carlisle, where she started a small gift shop that she operated for several years.  Rachael was a member of the Immanuel Church of the Christian-Missionary Alliance, Mechanicsburg.

All are welcome to join Rachael’s family at her gathering of family & friends on Wednesday, November 5, 2014, from 11:30 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. at Chapel Pointe at Carlisle , 770 South Hanover Street, Carlisle, PA 17013; with Reverend Fred R. Yearsley officiating.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to American Heart Association, 1019 Mumma Road, Wormleysburg, PA 17043 or Chapel Pointe At Carlisle, 770 South Hanover Street, Carlisle, PA 17103.

Rachael’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at her church following the service.  Burial will immediately follow the reception at Mt. Zion Cemetery , Churchtown.
