Randall “Randy” Edward Sorrow, Sr., age 56, of Camp Hill, and formerly of Warner Robins, GA, passed unexpectedly on Saturday, June 24, 2017.  Randy was born on Friday, March 31, 1961, in Macon, GA to Edward Milas Sorrow and Myrtle Louise (Brown) Pruitt.  He is preceded in death by his brother, Mike Middleton; and his stepfather, John Pruitt.

Randy’s survivors include his loving, first and last wife of five years, Lisa Ann (Lang) Sorrow, whom he married on October 9, 1980/2012; his nine children: April (Sorrow) Mizelle and her husband, Joe, and their three children of Hawkinsville, GA, Jennifer “Jenny” Lynn Sorrow of Milton, PA, Randy Sorrow, Jr. and his wife, Crystal, and their six children of Milton, PA, Samuel Sorrow of Lemoyne, PA, Thomas Sorrow of Camp Hill, PA, Kimberly “Kim” Smith and her husband, Tony, and their three children of Conway, SC, Cheryl “Chea” Hopper and her husband, Dustin, and their three children of Dallas, TX, Samantha Rivera and her husband, Bobby, and their four children of Sterling, VA, Randi-Marie Williams and her son of Conway, SC; his father, Edward Milas Sorrow of Georgia; His mother, Myrtle Louise (Brown) Pruitt of Georgia; his two brothers; his three sisters; and several nieces and nephews.

Randy graduated from Warner Robins High School in Georgia as part of the class of 1979.  He proudly served in the United States Army for over 20 years as a combat engineer (12B) during the Gulf War along with several tours in Europe and overseas.  Randy was a highly decorated veteran who earned the Army Commendation Medal (7 ^th award), Army Achievement Medal (9 ^th award), Army Good Conduct Medal (6 ^th award), National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with two bronze stars, Kuwait Liberation Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Development Ribbon (2), Army Service Ribbon, and Overseas Service Ribbon (3 ^rd award).  He retired from the United States Army War College in Carlisle, after many years of service working as a combat engineer.  Randy was a member of the VFW Memorial Post 6704 in Mechanicsburg and the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association PA 22-5.

Randy loved motorcycles and riding his Harley-Davidson was a true passion of his.  When Randy wasn’t out on his bike, he could be found tinkering around or working with his hands.  He was quite the carpenter; Randy reveled in building things, especially furniture that his family could use in their homes.  Randy was a strong man who always stuck up for and protected those around him; everyone wanted to have him in their corner.  Behind his tough exterior, there was a person with an extremely big heart who was always helping others; quite often Randy was the first one there whenever someone was in need.  The most important thing to Randy was his beautiful family.  He loved them tremendously and they will all miss him immensely.

All are welcome to join Randy’s family at his viewing on Saturday, July 1, 2017, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Myers-Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, and on Friday, July 7, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:40 a.m. at Goldfinch Funeral Home – Conway Chapel, 606 Beaty Street, Conway, SC 29526; with Robert Lang officiating. Burial will follow in Florence National Cemetery in Florence, SC, where military honors will be presented.  Honored to be pallbearers are members of the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association.
