Reba I. Holler
A loving wife, Mother, Grandmother -
Reba I Holler, age 92, of Mechanicsburg, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, March 24, 2023. Reba was born on Sunday, February 15, 1931, in York County PA to the late Murray Clay Chronister and Amanda Anne (Miller) Chronister. In addition to her parents, Reba is preceded in death by her husband Richard L. Holler and her daughter, Sheree Anita Holler.
Reba’s survivors include her son Jason Richard Holler and wife Aline; and her two grandsons: Bryan Jason Holler and wife Kelsey and Andrew “Drew” Frederick Holler and wife Emily. Reba is also survived by her sister Esther Elizabeth Lehman.
Reba was born in York Country PA. During her youth, she worked on the family farm and attended one-room schools. Reba was 1 of 18 members of her Dillsburg High School graduating class. After graduation, Reba worked at Blue Cross in Harrisburg, PA. She would soon meet her future husband, Richard, to whom she was married for over 68 years.
The couple bought a home in Mechanicsburg PA where they started their family. When Reba had her first child, Sheree, she decided to dedicate her life to being a fantastic and wonderful Mother. Reba was an active member of her Church’s Ladies Auxiliary participating in fundraising events from Christmas Bazaars to Mincemeat Sales. Reba was also an active community volunteer, dedicating her time to Mechanicsburg Meals on Wheels for over 30 years. Education was important to Reba. She never let an opportunity pass, like waiting for the school bus in the morning, to drill her children in their “times tables”. Reba had a green thumb, and enjoyed gardening, especially growing different varieties of herbs. A history buff, she and Richard often traveled to Williamsburg, VA. In her later years, Reba filled her days with word searches and jigsaw puzzles. Whatever her age, Reba would never refuse a scoop of Rakestraw’s Ice Cream!
In death, Reba will be reunited with her beloved husband, Richard, and her daughter, Sheree.
At Reba’s request, all are welcome to join her family at her gathering of family and friends on Monday, April 3, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until time of service beginning at 1:30 p.m. all at Trindle Spring Lutheran Church, 14 State Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050; with Pastor Aaron M.
