Richard Edward Lenker, age 65, of Camp Hill, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2022.  Richard was born on Tuesday, March 19, 1957, in Mechanicsburg to George “Pete” William Lenker, Sr. and the late Ruth Naomi (Harro) Lenker.  In addition to his mother, Richard is preceded in death by his two sisters, Dorothy “Dottie” (Lenker) Traver and Judy Lenker.

Richard’s survivors include his father, George “Pete” W. Lenker, Sr. of Mechanicsburg; his brother, George W. Lenker, Jr. of Franklintown; his nieces and nephews: Tonya Traver, Matthew Lenker, Luke Lenker, Tina Leinberger; several great nieces and nephews; and all of his friends at his Human Achievement Program Group Home, especially his roommates: Kevin Kelly, Matthew Menear and Shawn Moore.

Richard graduated from Mechanicsburg High School as part of the class of 1976.  When Richard set his mind to something, he persevered until he accomplished his goal.  He was known to enjoy a good conversation and in his spare time, Richard loved attending dirt track races with his brother and was also an avid bowler.  Family was extremely important to Richard and he will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.

All are welcome to join Richard’s family at his viewing on Monday, May 16, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m., and the service beginning at 1:45 p.m. at Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Celebrant George A. Spangler officiating.  Burial will follow the service in Crossroads Cemetery in Lewisberry.
