Richard Stanley Witmer, Jr., age 76, of Mechanicsburg, passed away at UPMC Pinnacle Carlisle on Tuesday, November 5, 2019. Richard was born on Wednesday, August 18, 1943 in Mechanicsburg to the late Richard Stanley Witmer, Sr. and Irma (Stambaugh) Witmer. In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in death by his sister, Lois A. Witmer.
Richard’s survivors include his sister, Nancy Dobbs and her husband, Jim, of Shippensburg; and his two nephews: James R. Dobbs, IV and his wife, Charlotte, and their daughter, Anna, of Carlisle, Richard S. Dobbs and his wife, Amy, and their son, Trey, of Enola.
Richard graduated from Mechanicsburg High School as part of the class of 1961. He worked as a projectionist for nearly 50 years at various theaters in the Harrisburg area. Richard was quite the movie buff and he loved to watch Turner Classic Movies (TCM).
All are welcome to join Richard’s family at his graveside service on Friday, November 8, 2019, at 9:45 a.m. at Rolling Green Cemetery, 1811 Carlisle Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
