Richard “Dick” Noel Duncan

Richard “Dick” Noel Duncan, age 83, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023.  Dick was born on Monday, December 18, 1939, in Fort Fairfield, ME to the late W. Stuart Duncan and L. Louise (Atwater) Duncan.

Dick’s survivors include his wife of 43 years, Margaret (Law) Duncan; his three daughters: Lori Schnedler and her husband, Randal, of Spring Branch, TX; Lynne Duncan of Irving, TX; Stephanie Duncan of Arlington, TX; his brother, Gordon Duncan of Swansea, IL; his sister, Roberta Griffiths and her husband, David, of Presque Isle, ME; and several nieces and nephews.

Dick graduated from Fort Fairfield High School and from University of Maine Orono, and was a veteran of the United States Air Force Reserve.  He retired from USDA National Conservation Resource Service, formerly known as Soil Conservation Service, after 32 years of service working as a conservationist.  Dick was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity and greatly enjoyed the camaraderie.  He married his wife, Margaret, on October 20, 1979 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Boonville, NY.  Dick enjoyed anything aircraft related and even started his own business, “Wings ‘N Things”, located at Capital City Airport, where he maintained and repaired aircraft.  Dick will be greatly missed.

All are welcome to join Dick’s family for a visitation on Saturday, June 10, 2023, from 10:30 a.m. until time of service beginning at 11:00 a.m., at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 8 East Keller Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.  Dick’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at the church immediately following the service.  Cremation was private.
