An Outgoing Man -

Richard “Rich” T. McGee, age 51 of Camp Hill, passed away with his wife by his side on Friday, December 16, 2016.  Rich was born on Tuesday, August 3, 1965 in Canandaigua, NY to Richard Eugene McGee and the late Helen Louise (Gill) McGee.  In addition to his mother, Rich is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Robert W. Shoop.

Rich’s survivors include his loving wife of 12 years, Rebecca “Becky”
Jane (Shoop) McGee; his father, Richard Eugene McGee of Shiremanstown; his two sisters: Susan Engelmore of Ithaca, NY, Dianna Payne and her husband, Jim, of York; his nieces and nephews: Tatia Engelmore, Amanda Payne, Jake Payne, Jeb Payne; his mother-in-law, Edith J. Shoop of Camp Hill; and his faithful feline companion, Tutu.

Rich graduated from Mechanicsburg High School as part of the class of 1983.  He attended Harrisburg Area Community College and Temple University.  Rich was an employee at J. Michael Brill & Associates, Inc. in Mechanicsburg where he worked as a draftsman.  He attended Free Grace Brethren in Christ Church in Millersburg.  Rich enjoyed going to concerts in his teen years on City Island.  He was a lifelong Miami Dolphins fan and he caught as many games on television as he could.  Rich like to play guitar as well as a good game of golf.  He appreciated the time he spent with his mom, especially if it was playing cards or going to the mall.  Rich loved going to his favorite place, Ocean City, MD, where he could be found riding his jet ski.  He will be remembered for his outgoing personality and how he loved to talk to those around him.  Rich was the kind of guy who people felt drawn to like he was someone they could talk to.

All are welcome to join Rich’s family at his viewing on Thursday, December 22, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Pastor Edwin Kessler officiating.  Burial will follow in Rolling Green Cemetery in Camp Hill.  Honored to be pallbearers are Jim Payne, Jake Payne, Jeb Payne, Rob Wilbur, Jesse Swoyer, Mike Wrubel, and Amanda Payne.
