Robert “Bob” “Pap” Eugene Bahn, age 81, of Mechanicsburg , died peacefully at Carolyn Croxton Slane Hospice Residence on Saturday, February 14, 2015. Bob was born on November 6, 1933 in Mechanicsburg to the late Paul Abram Bahn and Elmira Belle (Houser) Bahn. Bob was the widower of Patricia Ann Bahn, whom he married on August 22, 1958, and who died on November 21, 1999.
Bob’s survivors include his children: Louella Sanders and her husband, Tom, of Lewisberry, Holly Poplaski and her husband, Steven, of Dillsburg, Robert E. Bahn, Jr. of Mechanicsburg, Brian Bahn of Mechanicsburg, Victor Bahn of Mechanicsburg; his granddaughters: Megan Sanders, Emily Sanders, Stephanie Poplaski, Katie Poplaski; his siblings: Patricia Hutter, Jean Smith, Vicki Perea, Paul Bahn, Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.
Bob served in the U.S. Marine Corps . He built Northside Storage in 1969, and retired after 35 years of working in the business. Bob was a very hard worker who enjoyed leisure time at his cabin in the mountains of Laurel Lake with his wife and children for many years. He was a member of VFW Post #6704 , a lifetime member of Mechanicsburg Club , a former member and still active at Citizens Fire & Rescue , and a former member of the Mechanicsburg Business Men’s League . He loved watching baseball, especially the Phillies and Mechanicsburg Men’s Twilight Team, and he was a Penn State football fan. Bob particularly enjoyed attending his granddaughters' sporting events.
All are welcome to join Bob’s family at his viewing on Friday, February 20, 2015, from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Pastor John Estes officiating. Entombment will follow in Rolling Green Memorial Park in Camp Hill, where military honors will be presented by the Cumberland County Honor Guard . Honored to be pallbearers are: Vic Bahn, Bob Bahn, Tom Sanders, and Brian Bahn.
