Robert David Lemanski, age 65, of Mechanicsburg , died at West Shore Hospital on Friday, November 14, 2014.  Robert was born on Thursday, November 3, 1949 in Elwood City to the late Harry Lemanski and Betty Jane Pertile.  In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his brother, William Lemanski, and his sister, Patricia Ann Lemanski.

Robert’s survivors include his wife of 23 years, Bambi Lynn (Grasser) Lemanski; his sons: Brandon Thomas Lemanski and Brett Anthony Lemanski, both of Carlisle; his brother, Richard Lemanski and his wife Mona of Carlisle; and his sister, Mary Ellen Camera and her husband Joseph of New Castle.

Robert graduated from Elwood City High School as part of the class of 1968 and from Slippery Rock University .  He retired from Harrisburg City School District , after many years of service working as a high school math teacher. Robert was a salesman at Bobby Rahal Used Cars, in Mechanicsburg.   He was the best husband a woman could want.  Robert was an active member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mechanicsburg, where he sang in the choir and served on the council.  He was a good cook and had his own garden, which earned him one of his many nicknames, “Farmer Bob”.  Robert was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan.  He enjoyed bowling at ABC West’s Tuesday and Sunday Night Mixed Leagues, and golfing at the Army Depot Thursday Night Golf League.  Robert, or “Bimie”, as his close friends affectionately called him, had a tremendous amount of empathy and a wonderful spirit of giving.  He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

All are welcome to join Robert’s family for his Gathering of Family and Friends on Friday, November 21, 2014, from 2:00 p.m. until time of service at 3:00 p.m. at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church , 132 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Reverend Martin Zimmann officiating.  Robert’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at his church following the service.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors, Inc., 1117 Country Club Road, Camp Hill, PA  17011.
