Robert “Bob” Burgard Paull
Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Friend -
Robert “Bob” Burgard Paull, age 91, of Camp Hill, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 29, 2016. Bob was born on Sunday, February 1, 1925 in Dillsburg to the late Charles Edward Paull and Bertha Mae (Burgard) Paull.
Bob attended John Harris High School, and then he served in the United States Navy during World War II aboard the U.S.S. Sea Robin submarine. He retired from UGI after 37 years and he was a member of the Golden Flame Retirement Club. Bob was a Meals on Wheels volunteer and also coached Little League Baseball in Mechanicsburg for many years.
He was a faithful member of the Derry Street United Methodist Church in Harrisburg where he and his wife, June, were married in 1947. He enjoyed sports, the beach, fishing in Canada, crosswords, old western movies, and puzzles. Bob was also a fan of the Boston Red Sox.
Most importantly, he was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. In addition to his loving wife, he leaves three children: James and his wife, Cheryl of Mechanicsburg, Richard and his wife, Kelly, of Duncannon, Jan and her husband, Dan, of Dillsburg; eight grandsons: Brian, Daniel, Eric, and Andrew Paull, Matthew and Joshua Paull, Barry and Thomas Strayer; three great-grandsons with another arriving soon; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Thompson and her husband, George, his brother-in-law, Bill Etter and his wife, Jane.
Bob’s family will be remembering his life privately. Burial in Dillsburg Cemetery will be at the family’s convenience.
