Robert “Bob” Lee Turner, age 73, of Mechanicsburg died on Saturday, December 16, 2023.  Bob was born on Saturday, July 29, 1950, in Carlisle to the late Ernest Calvin Turner and Martha Sarah (Hippensteel) Turner.  In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy “Jim” Turner.

 

Bob’s survivors include his wife of 53 years, Jewel Mae (Kauffman) Turner of Mechanicsburg; his son, Barry Lee Turner and his wife, Shannon, of Enola; his two grandchildren: Noah Burton and Zoey Turner; his four siblings: Gary Turner and his wife, Dawn, of Shippensburg, Patricia “Pat” (Turner) Rice and her husband, John, of Deland, FL, Gloria (Turner) Wert and her husband, Chuck, of Orange City, FL, Bonnie (Turner) Valentine and her husband, Roy, of Palmyra; and several nieces and nephews.

 

He died peaceful at home. Married 53 years. He retired from Hempt Bros. after 52 years. He enjoyed hunting, restoring cars, and watching NASCAR.

 

Bob’s family will be remembering his life privately.  Interment in will be at the family’s convenience.  Cremation was private.
