Roberta “Bobbie” Helene (Busch) Brannock, age 86, of Mechanicsburg, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, February 23, 2021. Bobbie was born on Sunday, July 15, 1934, in Philadelphia to the late Otto “Buddy” Busch and Helene Dorothy (Kostello) Busch. Bobbie was the widow of Eugene “Gene” Augustus Brannock, whom she married on September 15, 1956, and who died on August 26, 2019. In addition to her parents and husband, Bobbie is preceded in death by her grandson, Robert Joseph “RJ” Burton.
Bobbie’s survivors include her two children: Cynthia “Cindy” Helene Burton of Elkridge MD, John Wesley Brannock and wife, Christina “Chrissie”, of Littleton, CO; her five grandchildren: Christopher “Chris” Burton and wife, Crystal, Jennifer “Jenn” Cobleigh and husband, Chris, Mark Brannock, Patrick “Pat” Burton, James “Jimmy” Brannock; and her great-grandson, Lucas “Luke” William Cobleigh.
Bobbie attended Temple University. She was a member of Camp Hill United Methodist Church. Bobbie was an avid bridge player; playing well and often. She was a homemaker who adored her family. Bobbie loved to cook and plan dinner parties with her friends. Her family will remember the elaborate holiday meals that she prepared for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. Each year she hosted an Easter egg hunt with the children and grandchildren. Bobbie loved traveling the world with her husband, Gene, visiting much of the United States, Europe, and Asia. They especially enjoyed visiting the exotic lands of Egypt, Turkey, Greece, and China. Bobbie had a bright personality that allowed her to make several lifelong friends. She loved her family; they will miss her very much.
All are welcome to join Bobbie’s family at her viewing on Friday, March 5, 2021, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with a service beginning at 11:15 a.m. at Camp Hill United Methodist Church, 417 S 22nd Street, Camp Hill PA 17011; with Reverend Sharon K. Miller officiating. In light of COVID-19 precautions, information on pre-registering for seating at the church service can be found on the church website at camphillumc.org or by calling the church office at (717) 737-5631. Bobbie’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship immediately following the service at Buhrig’s Gathering Place, 25 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, (717) 766-3421 (next to Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory), at 1:00 p.m. Over 100 parking spaces are available; just look for the “Buhrig” parking signs in all of our parking lots. A graveside committal service will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 13801 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD 20906-5271.
