Robert “Bob” Alan Eames
An Adoring Father and Grandfather -
Robert “Bob” Alan Eames, age 69, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022. Bob was born on Tuesday, October 28, 1952, in Mechanicsburg to the late Ronald Keith Eames and Joyce Marie (Kutz) Hopkins. In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his step-father, H. Kenneth Hopkins, and his two brothers, Randell “Randy” Eames and Richard “Rick” Eames.
Bob’s survivors include his wife of 46 years, Carrie Sue (Baker) Eames; his daughter, Rebecca “Becky” Elizabeth Anderson and husband, Alex, of Carlisle; his two granddaughters, Katelyn and Riley; his two sisters, JoAnn Negley and husband, Matthew, of Shippensburg and Phyllis Martin and husband, Jeffrey, of Shippensburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Bob graduated from Mechanicsburg High School as part of the class of 1971 and attended Harrisburg Area Community College. He retired from The Pennsylvania State Employee Retirement System and Municipal Employees Retirement System in Harrisburg, after many years of service working as a retirement counselor. Bob loved to spend time fly fishing on the many trout streams in the area. Bob loved to live life on the open road and loved his Triumph and his Harley Davidson. He was an avid billiards player and was very fond of scratch-off lottery tickets. Bob was a sports fan and his favorite teams were: the Boston Red Sox, the New England Patriots and the Penn State Nittany Lions. He had previously lived in Maine and he and Carrie would go back to Maine every year to vacation and to see family. Most of all, Bob loved his family and adored his granddaughters. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Bob’s family will be celebrating his life privately. Cremation was private.
