Robert “Bob” William Hebbard

Robert William Hebbard, 80, of Mechanicsburg, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, September 16, 2013.  He was born in Brookline, Massachusetts, on July 5, 1933, son of the late Richard Montgomery Hebbard and Eleanor (Carroll) Hebbard.

Bob is survived by his loving wife Nancy to whom he was married for 56 years.  He is also survived by his brother, Richard M. Hebbard; sons, Robert W. Hebbard II and his wife Valerie, Timothy C. Hebbard, and David M. Hebbard and his wife Rhonda; his grandchildren, Courtney E. Kerr, Robert W. Hebbard III, Paige E. Hebbard and Riley M. Hebbard; and two great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by the "daughter he never had", Tracey McCall.

Bob graduated from Newton High School in Newton, Massachusetts, after which he enlisted and served his country in the United States Air Force including a tour of duty in Korea during the Korean War .  Following his military service, Bob owned and operated Grand Prix Motors in Rossville, Pennsylvania.  He loved cars.  Bob retired after 26 years of service from Quaker Oats Company in Shiremanstown, Pennsylvania.  After his retirement, he consulted for Quaker Oats in Shanghai, China.  Bob greatly enjoyed playing golf with his three sons and antiquing with his wife.  He loved animals and adored his grandchildren.  Bob was the kind of man who would do anything for others.  He will be greatly missed by everyone who was privileged to know him.

Cremation and interment with military honors in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery will be private and at the family’s convenience.
