Robert “Bob” P. Knight

Robert “Bob” P. Knight, 61, of Mechanicsburg , died at Hershey Medical Center on Friday, October 5, 2012. He was born in Wilkes-Barre on Thursday, March 22, 1951, son of the late Peter Grodzinski and Elizabeth Grodzinski. Bob was the husband of Michelle L. (Lauver) Knight whom he married on May 28, 1988.

Bob received a bachelor’s degree from Kings College, a master’s degree in English Literature from University of Scranton, and a Master of Divinity from Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg. He was the pastor of Grace Lutheran Parish, consisting of the congregations of Grace Lutheran Church and St. Luke Lutheran Church . Prior to serving in the ministry, Bob was the assistant director of the American Red Cross Blood Services . He was a member of the Berwick and New Bloomfield Lions Clubs and Cumberland Star Masonic Lodge #197 F&AM , Carlisle. Bob loved old movies, especially Alfred Hitchcock’s, reading, politics, history and traveling to historical sites.

Bob’s survivors include his loving wife, Michelle, of 24 years; a loving daughter, MacKenzie YouLin Knight; two sisters, Elinor Kitlas of Wilkes-Barre and Elizabeth Knight of Plains Twp.; and five nieces and one nephew. Among those preceding Bob in death is a brother-in-law Joey Kitlas.

All are welcome to join Bob’s family at visitation on Wednesday, October 10, 2012, from 1:30 until time of service at 3:00 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church , 132 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, with the Reverends Joel Folkemer and David Schreffler officiating. Bob’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at the church following the service. Burial will be in Halls Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery in McKees Half Falls, PA, at the convenience of the family.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Orrstown Bank, c/o MacKenzie Knight Trust Fund, 3 Baden Powell Lane #1, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.
