A True Family Man -
Robert “Bob” Eugene Nease, age 92, of Mechanicsburg, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 16, 2023. Bob was born on Sunday, October 12, 1930, in New York City, NY to the late Martin Nease and Cornelia (Orendorff) Nease. In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Yeager, and his sister, Beryl Hamburg.
Bob’s survivors include the love of his life, Anita “Dawn” (Shank) Nease; his son, Anthony “Tony” Nease and his wife, Kyong Cha, of Dillsburg; his daughter, Theresa Elicker and her husband, Ronald, of Emlenton; his five grandchildren: Robert; Amanda and her husband, Adam; Jessica; Jeremy; Danny; his four great-grandchildren: Aidan, Olivia, Kannon, Juniper; his granddaughter in-law, Kelly; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved canine companion, Izzy.
Bob graduated from Bishop McDevitt High School as part of the class of 1948 and was enlisted in the United States Navy from 1948 until 1952, where he worked on rockets at Cape Canaveral. He was a lifetime member of the Mechanicsburg Sportsmen’s Association and enjoyed camping and all types of outdoor activities with Dome Roamers Camping Club. Bob collected lighthouses and teddy bears and liked watching NASCAR; he rarely missed a race. More than anything else, Bob loved his family. He lived for them and relished time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; he was a true family man. Bob will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
All are welcome to join Bob’s family at his gathering on Friday, January 20, 2023, from 12:30 p.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Mr. Robert Yeager officiating. Interment will follow the service in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, where military honors will be presented. Cremation was private.
