Robert “Bob” Lee O’Donnell
Robert “Bob” Lee O’Donnell, age 58, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Chambersburg and Shippensburg, passed away at home and surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, March 20, 2021, after a long battle with lung cancer. Bob was born on Sunday, August 19, 1962, in Chambersburg to the late Harry Theodore O’Donnell, Sr. and Anna Mary (Poe) O’Donnell. In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his brother, Donald R. O’Donnell.
Bob’s survivors include his three children: Tonya Ann Crouse and husband, Chris, of Newville; Amanda Nicole O’Donnell and fiancé, Ross Jones, of Chambersburg; Corey Lee O’Donnell of Newville; his two granddaughters: Serena Crouse and Mackenzie Crouse; his great-granddaughter: McKenna Hayslett; his eight siblings: Linda J. Morrow, Marlin E. Poe, Harry “Ted” T. O’Donnell, Jr., Deborah K. Mietus, Lilla M. O’Donnell, Donna A. Faust, Anthony “Andy” W. O’Donnell, Barbara Mowen; and his several nieces and nephews.
Bob was a loyal delivery driver for PepsiCo for 34 years, where he made many life-long friends both at work and on his routes. He enjoyed attending Boston Red Sox and Harrisburg Senator Baseball games. Bob was also a fan of the Boston Celtics and Minnesota Vikings. He loved spending time with his family whether it was attending baseball games, graduations or birthday parties for his grandkids and great-granddaughter. He also liked to take day trips and spend time with his family making memories. When Bob wasn’t with his family or friends, he could be found working in his yard or gardening, both of which he took great pride in.
All are welcome to join Bob’s family at his in-person viewing on Thursday, March 25, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. until time of service at 6:15 p.m. at Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055 with Chaplain Alan Echard officiating. Mike Jones will officiate the private burial in Norland Cemetery in Chambersburg.
