Robert “Bob” Lee Schweitzer, age 76, of Mechanicsburg , died at Holmes Regional Medical Center, Melbourne, FL on Monday,  March 24, 2014.  Born in Wood River, NE, on Thursday, December 30, 1937, he was the son of the late Earl Schweitzer and Ione (Bittinger) Schweitzer.  Bob was the husband of Gloria “Dodie” Rae (Lloyd) Schweitzer whom he married on September 10, 1960.

Bob’s survivors include his wife, Gloria “Dodie” of 53 years; his children, R. Craig Schweitzer and his wife Julie, Scott E. Schweitzer, Vicki R. Hoffman; his grandchildren, Joshua Schweitzer, Justin Schweitzer, Jordan Schweitzer, Brandon Hoffman, Robby Schweitzer; his three great-grandchildren, and his siblings, Sam Schweitzer, Faye Burns, Karen Ul, Bernice Roberts, Roy Schweitzer, and Jim Schweitzer; and several nieces and nephews. Among those preceding Bob in death are his siblings, Lila Sanders, Donna Sanders, Gerald Schweitzer, Harold Schweitzer, Joan Hutchison and Terry Schweitzer.

Bob graduated from Corry High School as part of the class of 1956.  He retired from PPG , after 31 years of service.  Bob attended Country & Town Baptist Church in Mechanicsburg. He was a US Army Veteran . Bob was an avid Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, and PSU football fan. He was a loving husband and father who just adored his grandchildren. Bob enjoyed grilling, gardening and especially the beach.

All are welcome to join Bob’s family at his viewing on Monday, March 31, 2014, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; and on Tuesday, April 1, 2014, from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. at Country & Town Baptist Church , 220 Gettysburg Pike, Mechanicsburg with Pastor Robert Hylton officiating. Burial will follow in Mechanicsburg Cemetery. Bob’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at his church following the burial.
