Robert “Bob” Frank Walters

Robert “Bob” Frank” Walters, age 88, of Mechanicsburg passed away on Monday, May 8, 2023.  Bob was born on Thursday, February 21, 1935, in Mechanicsburg to the late Frank H. Walters and Mildred (Paulus) Walters.  Bob was the widower of Judith “Judy” A. (Davis) Walters, who died on October 13, 2003.

Bob’s survivors include his four children: Robert “Rob” Walters and his wife, Kim, York Haven; Melissa “Miss” Walters of Carlisle, Wendy Walters of Mechanicsburg, Tracy Walters and his wife, Pam, of Shermans Dale; his five grandchildren: Cory Wert, Sara Shelley, Meagan Phillips, Roman Thomas, Brody Walters; his five great-grandchildren: Mya, Kacen, Maddox, Hasan, Norie; his four sisters; and several nieces and nephews.

In 2000, Bob retired from Capital Area Transit (CAT) in Harrisburg, after 25 years of service working as a mechanic.  He loved mowing the grass on his tractor and was a huge NASCAR fan; his favorite drivers were Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and his son, Dale Jr.  Bob was a hardworking, caring and an all-around great man.  He deeply loved and missed his wife and absolutely adored his grandchildren.  Bob will be dearly missed by all those that had the pleasure of knowing him.

All are welcome to join Bob’s family at his viewing on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. at Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Celebrant George A. Spangler officiating.  Burial will follow the service in Longsdorf Cemetery in Mechanicsburg.
