Roger LaRue Whittle, age 90, of North Hollywood, CA died at home on Sunday, March 13, 2016. Roger was born on Saturday, April 18, 1925 in Harrisburg, PA to the late William A. Whittle and Rose A. (Rogers) Whittle. Roger was the widower of Cleora Arlene (Emery) Whittle, whom he married on September 17, 1975, and who died on November 3, 2014.
Roger’s survivors include his dear friend, Tim Trimble and his wife, Ying Wang, of Valley Village, CA.
Roger served in the 3 rd Infantry Division in the U.S. Army in World War II, earning a Bronze Star and Purple Heart for action near Anzio, Italy. He also served in North Africa. Roger was a member of the Southern California Mustang Owners Association.
Services will be private at Chestnut Hill Cemetery in Mechanicsburg, PA.
