Ronald “Ron” Earl Miller, age 67, of Mechanicsburg passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023. Ron was born on Friday, January 27, 1956, in Huntingdon to the late Earl Wilson Miller and Deloris Thelma (Cohenour) Miller. In addition to his parents, Ron is preceded in death by his son-in-law, Ronald “Gene” Eugene Keefer Jr.
Ron’s survivors include his wife of 43 years, LuJean Carol (Kough) Miller; his 3 daughters: Samantha “Sammie” Pecynski and her husband, Luc, of Wellsboro; Christina “Chris” Weiler of Mechanicsburg; Jessica “Jess” Miller of Mechanicsburg; his 4 grandchildren: Alara Keefer; Parker Sample; Avrielle Pecynski; Karys Pecynski; and his beloved canine companions: Angus and Frankie.
Ron graduated from Southern Huntingdon County High School as part of the class of 1973. He retired from Footlocker in July 2016, after many years of service working as a computer programmer. Ron attended Meeting House Church in Carlisle. He loved NASCAR and he was a history buff whose family military history spurred his interest in Gettysburg and WWII. Ron had a special bond with all his grandchildren. He was proud of Parker playing football as a Wildcat. Ron and Alara bonded over their mutual love of airplanes, airshows, and the Northrop P-61. “Chip” was Ron’s nickname growing up, so he enjoyed watching Avrielle’s performance as “Chip” in Beauty and the Beast. Ron was able to stop and smell the roses with Karys, simply sitting and spending time with each other. Luc became a special member of the family, the “CW3” and the handyman. The family took many wonderful trips to Disney World together giving Ron an opportunity to connect with Donald Duck and Grumpy, his favorites.
