Rose Piasecki

October 29, 1937 — December 8, 2024

Rose Marie Piasecki, age 87, of Mechanicsburg, died on Sunday, December 8, 2024. Rose was born on Friday, October 29, 1937, in Colley Township to the late Michael Smith and Mary (Chuvian) Smith. In addition to her parents Rose is preceded in death by her daughter, Ann “Cookie” Morey.

Rose’s survivors include her husband of 68 years, Stanley Piasecki; her three children: Mary Piasecki of Harrisburg, Mike Piasecki and his wife Sue of Lake City, FL, and Daniel Piasecki of Dillsburg ; her three grandchildren: Marissa and her husband, Branden, Paige and her fiance, Chris, and Jimmy; her two great-grandchildren: Dakota and Levi; her son in law: James Morey II of Mechanicsburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Rose graduated from Cherry Township High School as part of the class of 1955. She attended beauty school and worked for many years as a beautician. Rose was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Mechanicsburg. Rose enjoyed spending time in her garden planting flowers and vegetables. She frequented casinos and loved to gamble and play the slot machines. Rose was a member of the Ladies Bowling League at ABC West Bowling Alley for many years. She was an avid crafter, knitter, and crocheter. She would always have a good book to read. 

Rose was excellent at working with her hands. She especially loved cooking and hosting family dinners. She would often say, “Cook, and they will come.” It was Rose’s family tradition to gather and make Polish food like pierogies and kielbasa on Christmas Eve. She had an unconditional love for her family and two hearts. Rose was loved by all and will be dearly missed by all those fortunate to have been in her life. 

All are welcome to join Rose’s family at her celebration of life open house and gathering of family and friends on Saturday, December 21, 2024, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with a prayer at 12:00 p.m. at Buhrig’s Gathering Place, 25 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, (717) 766-3421 (next to Buhrig Funeral & Cremation); with Deacon Auchey officiating. Over 100 parking spaces are available; just look for the “Buhrig” parking signs in all of the parking lots. Cremation was private.
