Roy E. Mason, age 79, of Mechanicsburg , died at the Carolyn Croxton Slane Hospice Residence on Sunday, May 24, 2015.  Roy was born on Wednesday, November 27, 1935 in Somerset, PA to the late Edward Ellsworth Mason and Mary Susan (Menhorn) Mason.  In addition to his parents, Roy is preceded in death by his siblings: Elizabeth, Adella, Marie, Beatrice, Thelma, Sonny; and his infant brother, George Edward.

Roy’s survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Patricia Carol (McClaren) Mason; his children: Blair Edward Mason and his wife, Sherri, of Dillsburg, Shari Leigh O’Connell and her husband, John, of Harrisburg; his three grandchildren: Jennifer Gochenaur, Tyler Mason, Patrick Mason; his four great-grandchildren: Isaah, Lucas, Kallie, Clara; his brother, Clyde Mason and his wife, Donna, of Ohio; his sister, Sarah Trimpey; and several nieces and nephews.

Roy was a veteran of the U.S. Army .  He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Mechanicsburg.

All are welcome to join Roy’s family at gathering of family and friends on Friday, May 29, 2015, from 1:30 p.m. until time of service at 3:00 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Pastor Ross Ritchey officiating.  Burial will follow in Mechanicsburg Cemetery in Mechanicsburg.  Roy’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at his daughter’s home in Harrisburg.  Honored to be pallbearers are: Blair Mason, Tyler Mason, Patrick Mason, and Kyle Gochenaur.
