Ruth Geraldine (Carey) Elicker

Ruth G. Elicker, age 100, a resident of County Meadows, Mechanicsburg, passed away on April 6, 2023.

Ruth retired as a staffing specialist from the Navy Ships Parts Control Center.  She was a graduate of Biglerville High School and Central Penn Business College.  Ruth was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Mechanicsburg.

Ruth enjoyed watching football and NASCAR races, and always had a crochet project in the works.  She gifted many of her creations to her family and friends in addition to the Prayer Shawl Ministry at her church.

In addition to her parents, Clarence and Grace Carey, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Ronald Holland, and brother, Donald Carey.  She is survived by children, Barbara and Benjamin Yost and Bonnie and Larry Zinn.  She is also survived by grandchildren, Timothy (Pamela) Devine of Dover, DE, Jeffrey (Billie Jo) Devine of East Petersburg, Jama (Michael) Casper of Renovo, Matthew Yost of Mechanicsburg, Nicole (Christopher) Shields of Dillsburg, Ronda Shultz of Duncannon and Todd (Michelle) Holland of New Bloomfield and 24 great and great-great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff of Lifesong Hospice and Country Meadows for their tender care during the last months of mom’s life.  You kept her smiling til the end.

All are welcome to join Ruth’s family at her viewing on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. with a service beginning at 12:00 p.m. all at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 117 West Keller Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Reverend Marleen Elaine Griffith-Stull officiating.  Ruth’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at her church immediately following the service.  Burial will follow the reception in Rolling Green Cemetery in Camp Hill.
