Ruth Verna (Byers) Foster

Ruth Verna (Byers) Foster, age 95, of Port Hueneme, CA, and formerly of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2022.  Ruth was born on Sunday, February 13, 1927, in Camp Hill to the late Galen Byers, Sr. and Bertha (Eichenberger) Byers.  Ruth was the widow of Elvin “Steve” Iradell Foster, whom she married in 1950, and who died on February 14, 2007.  In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth is preceded in death by her son, Ronald L. Foster; her two brothers: Galen Byers, Jr.; Clair “Pete” Byers; and her sister, Anna Kepner.

Ruth’s survivors include her son, Steven “Steve” Foster and his wife, Kim, of Port Hueneme, CA; her two granddaughters: Jennifer Rivas and her husband, Felix, of Port Hueneme, CA; Laura Foster and her fiancé, Jovan Montanez, of Filmore, CA; her five great-grandchildren: Blaise Rivas, Nesta Rivas, Giselle Rivas, Olive Rivas, Amelia Rivas; her brother, James Byers of Dillsburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Ruth’s family will be remembering her life privately.  Interment in Rolling Green Cemetery in Camp Hill will be at the family’s convenience.  Cremation was private.
