Samuel “Mike” Michael Fullerton, age 84, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Camp Hill, died at Harmony at West Shore on Friday, October 13, 2023. Mike was born on Thursday, September 14, 1939, in York to the late Samuel Miles Fullerton and Thelma M. (Peters) Fullerton. Mike was the widower of Ruth Ann (Spitler) Fullerton, whom he married on December 3, 1961, and who died on November 21, 2022. In addition to his parents and wife, Mike is preceded in death by his son: Samuel Miles Fullerton.
Mike’s survivors include his three children: Theodore “Ted” Fullerton and his wife, Christina, of Wellsville, Andrew “Andy” Fullerton and his wife, Jennifer, of Camp Hill, and Geneva “Gen” Gause of New Cumberland; his six grandchildren: Zachary Gause and his fiancé, Maggie Lucas, Dana Valentine and her husband, Garrett, Matthew Fullerton, Bella Fullerton, Alex Fullerton, and Jackson Fullerton; his two great-grandchildren: Lucy and Fred Valentine; his two siblings: John Fullerton and his wife, Ruth, of Elizabethtown, Constance “Connie” Bonner and her husband, Thomas, of Brockport, New York; and several nieces and nephews.
Mike graduated from Susquehannock High School as part of the class of 1957 and from Penn State University in 1961 with a Bachelor’s degree. He retired from Harsco in 2005 as a Human Resources Director. Mike loved watching tv, especially his old movies and his favorite football team: Penn State. He was an avid reader, and was a regular at the Camp Hill library. An audiophile, he used his always-improving speaker systems to play his favorite classical music loudly throughout the house. Mike was a history buff, particularly with his family ancestry and the Civil War, and he brought his family with him to many battlefields on their vacations. He will be dearly missed
