Sandra E. (Painter) Cutler
Forever 39 -
Sandra E. (Painter) Cutler, age 76, of Mechanicsburg, was embraced by Jesus on Saturday, September 29, 2018. Sandra was born on Tuesday, December 30, 1941 in Harrisburg to the late Russell Painter and Aletha Pearl Joyce (Ellis) Painter Gingrich. Sandra was the widow of Horace P. G. Cutler, whom she married on July 3, 1979, and who died on May 13, 2003. In addition to her parents and husband, Sandra is preceded in death by her sister, Susan Fitting.
Sandra’s survivors include her three children: Dianna L. Richardson and her husband, Jim, of New Cumberland, Cynthia “Cindy” M. Glinski and her husband, Paul, of Mechanicsburg, Richard “Rick” E. Kline of New Cumberland; her seven grandchildren; her four great-grandchildren with one on the way; and her sister, Dottie Manuel and her husband, Steve, of Enola.
Sandra graduated from East Pennsboro High School as part of the class of 1959 and attended Harrisburg Area Community College. She retired from the office of Dr. John M. Sullivan, MD and Associates in Mechanicsburg, after many years of service working as a medical secretary. Sandra also worked for Capital Products Corporation and Colt Plumbing Company in Mechanicsburg. She was a very active member of Trinity United Methodist Church in New Kingstown for 40 years, where she participated in Bible Study. Sandra was an avid reader and picked up a book at least once a day usually written by her favorite author, Debbie Macomber. She enjoyed playing King in the Corner and Kizmet with family and friends. She loved listening to Gospel music, especially sung by the Gaither family. Sandra liked going to both the American Music and Sight & Sound Theatres in Lancaster. She was also a woman who loved to travel to Florida or any beach she could find. Sandra was optimistic and remained young at heart, often referring to herself as, “forever 39”. She liked to meet new people and saw strangers as friends she just hadn’t met yet. Above everything else in her life, family was the most important. Sandra loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and valued the time they were able to spend together.
