Sandra Lee (Towe) Wilson
A Kind and Generous Woman -
Sandra Lee (Towe) Wilson, age 80, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Allison Park, died at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital on Wednesday, August 19, 2020. Sandra was born on Friday, September 1, 1939, in Pittsburgh to the late James Lawrence Towe and Marian Grace (Boyd) Towe. Sandra is the former wife of Charles J. Wilson, who died on April 29, 2020. In addition to her parents and former husband, Sandra is preceded in death by her much loved younger sister, Lynn Segal.
Sandra’s survivors include her two sons: Douglas “Doug” Wilson of Camp Hill, Dave Wilson and wife, Jan, of Harrisburg; her two grandchildren: Keith Wilson and wife, Ciara; Lindsay Bellisimo and husband, Don; her two great-grandchildren, Brielle Wilson and Owen Bellisimo; her brother, James Towe of Florida; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved feline companion: Drey.
She graduated from Hampton High School as part of the class of 1958 and went onto obtain both a B.S. and MBA from Penn State University. She became a CPA in 1982 and spent the last 14 years of her professional life as the Head of the Department of Audit Services for the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association in Harrisburg, from which she retired in 2004. She was an avid bridge player, a member of the American Contract Bridge League and a Gold Life Master at the time of her death. She loved the many cats that were part of her family over the years. She was a proud grandmother and great grandmother, and cherished the time that she spent with her family.
All are welcome to join Sandra’s family at her viewing on Wednesday, August 26, 2020, from 11:30 a.m. until time of service at 12:30 p.m. at Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Celebrant Patti Vogl officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary’s of the Assumption Cemetery in Glenshaw at the convenience of the family. Cremation was private.
