Sara “Janie” J. Gandy
Sara J. Gandy (Janie), age 72, of Carlisle , was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday July 26, 2015. She was born on Thursday, February 25, 1943 in Carlisle, PA to the late Harold V. Cuff and Maude (Rice) Cuff. In addition to her parents, Sara is preceded in death by her loving husband, Harry C. Gandy, beloved sister and brother, Diane Cuff and Gregory H. Cuff.
Sara leaves to cherish her memory, a son, Christopher J. Gandy (Sara E. Gandy) of Carlisle; a daughter, Weslia C. Gandy of Carlisle; and her grandchildren: Christian E Gandy, Olivia D. Gandy, Christopher J. Gandy, Jr., Cryshai J. Gandy, Geta K. Alfeo, Salvatore P. Alfeo, Tierani A. Schmincke, Sean M. Schmincke; her sisters Carol A. Meade of San Antonio, TX, Darlene Glenn of Davenport, FL, Denise (Cuff) Blocker of Ft. Worth, TX, and a host of relatives and friends.
Sara worked as a nurse's aide early in her life, then when God blessed her with two children, she became a stay at home wife and mother. Sara loved crocheting beautiful afghans for her family and friends and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a past Worthy Matron in the Eastern Star, Jeptha Chapter 4. She also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 826 in Carlisle, PA.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of Sara’s children.
