Saundra Marie (Myers) Braucher

Saundra Marie Braucher, age 83, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 21, 2016 at the Carolyn Croxton Slane Hospice Residence in Harrisburg, PA.  She was a resident of Bethany Village in Mechanicsburg, PA.  She was born April 6, 1933 in Chambersburg, PA to Blain and Irene (Ludwig) Myers and was an only child.  She loved Chambersburg Area High School and as drum majorette led the marching band in parades through town after winning football games.  After graduation she held jobs as a telephone operator and at Stanley Manufacturing while waiting three years for her fiancé to return from serving in the Philippians during the Korean War.  Once moving to Mechanicsburg, she worked at Weitzel’s Farm and made candies at the Virginia Nut Shop.

Saundra was preceded by death by her parents and is survived by her husband of 62 years, William Franklin Braucher; her children Keith and Marsha (Allison) Braucher of Red Lion, Keith and Kendra (Braucher) Shade of York, PA, and Troy and Kimberly (Braucher) Erdman of Enola, PA, as well as grandchildren, Allison Braucher and Paige, Morgan and Alexis Erdman.

Saundra was an active member of Shiremanstown United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School.  She will be remembered by family and community as always pleasant, helpful and of strong faith and unconditional love.

All are welcome to join Saundra’s family at her gathering of family and friends on Saturday, October 29, 2016, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and memorial service at 12:45 p.m. at Shiremanstown United Methodist Church, 125 East Main Street, Shiremanstown, PA 17011; with Reverend Dr. Keith Owen Braucher and Reverend Logan Garth Swanger officiating.  Saundra’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at her church immediately following the memorial service.
