A Friendly & Laidback Man –
Scott Alan Brookover, age 62, of Etters, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 25, 2021. Scott was born on Saturday, July 4, 1959, in Parkersburg, WV to the late Gale Lewis Brookover and Betty Dale (Daggett) Brookover. In addition to his parents, Scott is preceded in death by his two brothers: Brian Brookover and Bill McCartney.
Scott’s survivors include his wife, Barbara “Barb” Jean (Blazer) Brookover; his three children: Jeffery “Jeff” Brookover of Lemoyne, Theresa Grobaker, Brandon Brookover; his grandson, Damien Grobaker; and his brother, Craig Brookover and wife, Mary, of Mississippi.
Scott graduated from Parkersburg High School as a part of the class of 1977. He worked for Fry Communications, Inc. in Mechanicsburg for nearly 20 years as a printer. Scott was a member of the Fox-Eichelberger VFW Post 7415 and American Legion Post 974, both in New Cumberland. He was an avid NASCAR and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Scott also enjoyed cooking, especially on the grill while having an ice-cold beer. He had a true passion for deep sea fishing and never turned down an opportunity to go out on the water. Scott was a hardworking yet friendly and laidback man who loved keeping it simple in his life.
All are welcome to join Scott’s family at his gathering of family and friends open house on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. with a celebration of life to begin at 1:30 p.m. at Buhrig’s Gathering Place, 25 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, (717) 766-3421 (next to Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory); with Celebrant Patti Vogl officiating. Over 100 parking spaces are available; just look for the “Buhrig” parking signs in all of the parking lots. Cremation was private.
Contributions in celebration of Scott’s life can be made to any veteran’s organization of the donor’s choosing.
