Sharon Marie (Batdorf) Heikel
Saw the Good in Everyone -
Sharon Marie (Batdorf) Heikel, age 75, of Harrisburg, and formerly of Mechanicsburg, was reunited with her husband when she went home to be with her Lord on Monday, April 17, 2017. Sharon was born on Monday, April 13, 1942 in Danville to the late Robert Aaron Batdorf and Loretta Mae (Baker) Batdorf. Sharon was the widow of Chester “Chet” Lee Heikel, Jr., whom she married on April 3, 1961, and who died on January 3, 2016.
Sharon’s survivors include her three children: Cory L. Heikel and his wife, Amanda, of Mechanicsburg, Kelly M. Carl and her husband, Daniel, of Dover, Nicole Robinson and her husband, David, of Harrisburg; her ten grandchildren: Jeremy Heikel and his wife, Tara, and their children: Jackson and Ethan, Ian Heikel and his wife, Tiffany, and their son, Watson, Danielle (Carl) Rebert and her husband, Luke, and their sons: Ryder, Raidyn, and Remington (on the way), Sean Heikel, Keenan Carl, Caden Robinson, Ellianna Robinson, Christian Robinson, Mackenzie Heikel, Leah Heikel; her brother, Robert Michael Batdorf and his wife, Joan, of Harrisburg; and her beloved canine companion, Sambo.
Sharon graduated from Mechanicsburg High School as part of the class of 1960. She was a bookkeeper at Kinney Shoe Corporation, Fry Communications, Inc., and the Democratic National Convention (DNC). Sharon was a long-time member of the Shiremanstown First Church of God. She was firm in her convictions and saw the good in everyone until someone messed with her family, especially her grandchildren. Sharon’s grandchildren always knew that she supported and loved them. She saw through their eyes because she sincerely cared about what they cared about. Sharon was also a patient, supportive, and loyal wife who was always very understanding. Her whole family loved her deeply and she will be sorely missed.
All are welcome to join Sharon’s family at her gathering of family and friends on Friday, April 21, 2017, from 10:30 a.m. until time of service at 11:30 a.m. at Shiremanstown First Church of God, 35 South Locust Street, Shiremanstown, PA 17011; with Reverend Floyd R. Carlen, Reverend David H. Robinson, and Pastor Cory L. Heikel officiating.
Burial will follow in Rolling Green Cemetery in Camp Hill. Honored to be pallbearers are Jeremy Heikel, Ian Heikel, Sean Heikel, Daniel Carl, Keenan Carl, Caden Robinson, and Randy Kinsey.
Sharon’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at her church following the burial.
