Sidney James Verchick
Our Angel Son -
Sidney James Verchick, infant son of Brian Patrick Verchick and Heather Elizabeth (Klebe) Verchick of Enola , was born and died at Holy Spirit Hospital while being held and loved by his parents on Thursday, October 31, 2013.
Sidney’s face was the sweetest little face with the cutest little button nose. Heather, his mother, made her first set of curtains for his ocean themed room, which he would have loved. He was a future Pittsburgh Steelers and Philadelphia Phillies fan and he would dance to Led Zeppelin’s music. Early in his life, Sidney inspired his father, Brian, to pursue his dream of producing an independent film which is now in production. Sidney traveled with his parents to Cooperstown, New York, and the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum where he enjoyed the best fried chicken. Grapes were a special treat for Sidney and they always made him kick. He brought so much love, joy, and excitement into his family’s life and his trip to heaven has left an empty home.
Sidney’s survivors include his loving parents; his maternal grandparents, William and Judith Klebe of Chambersburg; his paternal grandmother, Patricia Slifko and her husband Andrew of Seltzer; his three uncles, David Klebe and his wife Helen of Mechanicsburg, William Klebe of Chambersburg, Gregory Verchick and his wife Dale of Pottsville; and several cousins. Among those preceding Sidney in death are his paternal grandfather, Joseph Verchick, and his uncle, David Verchick.
Family and close friends are welcome to join Sidney’s family for his funeral service on Wednesday, November 6, 2013, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church , 6839 Wertzville Road, Enola, PA 17025, with Pastor Anne-Rose Reeves officiating. Sidney will be buried with his paternal grandfather and his uncle in Saints Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Cemetery in Llewellyn, Pennsylvania, at 12:00 p.m.
Heather and Brian send their most heartfelt thanks to all of the nurses at Holy Spirit Hospital who so lovingly cared for Sidney and them.
